(More customer reviews)I have had these boots for a while, at least 2 years, wearing them when it rained- usually in the warmer months - and splashing through puddles like a kid, with no problems at all. But recently, when my warm winter snow boots developed a leak, I turned to these rain boots as an alternative. Ive worn them with long underwear and thick-ish socks and been perfectly warm walking through snow. I can stomp through the snow without being cold, the puddles of slush at corners without getting wet and even walk on the icy sidewalks without slipping (take care of course.) I sometimes have trouble finding "nice" leather boots that fit my calves, and I was so happy these fit my calves (albeit snugly). I suppose that means they might be big in the calf for the more slender - legged individual. I didn't give them five stars because when the weather is warm, the boots can be a little too warm, and if you make the mistake of wearing them w/o socks, you could require the assistance of a friend to get them off. One last thing- the heel/sole is substantial and so they are comfortable enough that I sometimes leave them on when i get to work even though I no longer require their waterproofness. My office is always cold so in the summer, their warmth can actually come in handy indoors.
